The three of us who write this blog have in common, of course, a shared love of music. When we first got to know each other we had something else in common: a lack of girlfriends and, more generally, lives. These two common factors had a symbiotic relationship. The intensity of one inadvertently fed the intensity of the other. We may have been lonely, sad bastards, but we were lonely, sad bastards with great life soundtracks. And that almost made it OK.
Times change, though, and I think it’s fair to say that none of us are as hip to new music as we used to be. That said, we try to keep our ears to the ground. With that caveat laid clearly on the table, we’ll use the next few posts after this to present our top albums and tracks of the year.
